on what records/releases have you used smartelectronix software?

yasume - where we're from the birds sing a pretty song

when i wrote the xela album i hadnt really discovered the wonders of plugin technology, but by the time i was working on yasume, i was a just touching on the wonders of 'what could be'. when gabe (logreybeam) introduced me to smartelectronix it blew my mind... totally revolutionised the way i work with my recordings. i think 90% of the tracks on the yasume have one or another of the smartelectronix plugins on!
there's smartelectronix stuff all over all the new xela tracks too... and i used the plugins to death in my live shows (succesfully, without any hitches! THANKS GUYS)

in what ways do you use our plugins?

all different ways really....
transverb is GREAT on pads and guitar
bouncy is great for minimal use on glitches
cyanide is perfect for gating drum loops
ambience is definately my reverb daddy recently - i use it on almost everything! talk about versatile.
bufferoverride is LOVELY for getting slightly random beatiness.
it's difficult to say exactly how i use everything because it changes every time, that's what's wonderful about the smartelectronix world - it ENHANCES creativity rather than stifling it.

what do you think about smartelectronix software/mentality?

i have nothing but absolute respect for everyone at smartelectronix... i mean what can i say - these guys are doing the absolute best plugins on the scene, plugins that are almost taylor made for the music i make - and they are FREE? i couldn't believe it until i hooked up with the brains of the operation - bram, then once i found out what sort of guy he was i could understand just where the smartelectronix 'mentality' came from. i can't say enough good things about this stuff, i mean you should never look a gift horse in the mouth - but you can inspect these gift horses until you're blue in the face, and if there's anything wrong you can bet your life the guys will fix it. hows that for free service!

what kind of things would you like to see in the future from smartelectronix?

more of the same guys. what makes me happy about smartelectronix is the way that i am constantly surprised and blown away. i dont know a lot about computer music really, but what smartelectronix does seems to be pushing the boundries with each and every release. just keep doing this and i will be a very happy xela!
